Music fans and adventure games ones have really been looking forward to Double Fine's Brutal Legend game ever since it was announced by its creator, the legendary Tim Schafer, who was the mind behind other critically acclaimed titles like Psychonauts.

There has been a lot of debate over it, largely because Activision, which dropped the publishing rights to it because it didn't have franchise potential, is now battling it out with Electronic Arts, the current publisher, for the fate of the title.

But, besides all of these things, Tim Schafer believes that fans will be on the receiving end of a lot of surprises regarding the game. Now, on the heels of the announcement that legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne will join other metal legends like Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister, Judas Priests' Rob Halfor or The Runaways' Lita Ford, Schafer reveals that things about the multiplayer and about the soundtrack will soon be unveiled.

“There might be some more surprises. You never know,” Schafer says. “Ozzy was a pretty big one. That was the very origin of my love of metal. Diary of a Madman was the first album I ever bought in 1981. Taking that actual physical album that I had and bringing it to the studio for him to sign it was a big, mammoth completion thing for me. So now I can just die. These are my personal favorite dudes: Lemmy, Rob Halford and Ozzy. Those are my old heavy metal heroes.”

The designer also adds that a lot of good voice actors will be revealed in the following weeks. “We haven't really gone into too many details about our multiplayer. Over the next few months we'll talk about that some more. Plus, there are some more really good actors in the game. And the soundtrack has not really been talked about, because of legal shenanigans with the rights. In Full Throttle we had, like, three licensed songs from one band. That was pretty easy. This has got a hundred or so. Maybe a million. Possibly a million songs. We ship it on an external hard drive. My own personal iPod ships with it.”

So, it definitely seems that Brutal Legend will be an epic game indeed. Look forward to more details about this title as they will be revealed in the following months before its October release.
