The team lacks the resources to create them at the moment

Tim Schafer, the leader of the development team at Double Fine, says that he has sequel ideas for all the titles that his company has created, but lacks the resources required to make them all.

He tells Kotaku that, “Every one of our games is like, ‘Oh, now I see how to make that game correctly. Oh, I have a lot of ideas of how to make those mechanics better,’ or whatever. So I’d love to get that chance to do that.”

The developer says that each time he was exploring the possibility of a sequel, he had another big game idea, like Grim Fandango, that seemed more interesting to make.

Schafer says that Double Fine is bringing up the idea of a new Costume Quest title each year around Halloween, but that no game linked to that universe is being worked on.

At the moment, Double Fine is working on its classic adventure title, Broken Age, and on Massive Chalice.
