BioWare has announced two new actors who are set to voice characters from its upcoming role plating game Dragon Age: Origins, which should arrive later in the year. Tim Curry, who has risen to prominence with his role in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and in Spamalot, will be voicing an evil politician, while Kate Mulgrew, who has played Captain Kathryn Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager, will be a witch.

In Dragon Age: Origins noted actor Tim Curry is set to lend his voice to Arl Rendon Howe, one of the villains of the videogame. The character is set to be sly, charming, well educated and capable of long-term planning.

His evil and his debilitating lust for power are not immediately evident and Tim Curry is the perfect man to play this complex character. Kate Mulgrew will be voicing Flemeth, a witch of considerable power who aspires to immortality and plays a central role in the adventures of the main character.

Mark Darrah, who is an executive producer for BioWare working on the RPG, has said that “Dragon Age: Origins has the largest cast of characters of any game BioWare has ever made. By working with an incredibly talented cast of actors we are able to bring reality and depth to the characters, their back stories, motivations, and dreams that our talented writers have created for them.”

Tim Curry has previous experience working with videogame developers, most famously appearing in the latest Command & Conquer: Red Alert videogame as a Russian commander.

Dragon Age: Origins is set to tell a complex story focused around a Grey Warden who must defeat a long-lasting evil, which threatens the land. The game will be blending high and low fantasy concepts, so expect soaring scores and good versus evil fights but also scheming, betrayal and a lot of mature content. The title is set to arrive on November 3 in North America and three days later in Europe.
