14 DAY TRIAL // For the first time since she broke into the spotlight many years ago, Tila Tequila is actually not inviting media attention by doing or saying something scandalous. In fact, she’s being extremely graceful in her explanation of why she broke up with her boyfriend, the father of her unborn child.
Tila, once known as the most colorful appearance on any red carpet because of the way she used to conduct herself, is now 12 weeks pregnant and she’s been telling her friends and fans on social media that the child has saved her life by helping her start afresh.
Despite the fact that she did not reveal the name of the father of the baby, he took it upon himself to do that: so 42-year-old Thomas Paxton Whitaker, a musician, went to the press to confirm that he was the father and Tila’s current live-in boyfriend.
Shortly after he spilled the beans, Tila called it off and asked him to move out and he, always the gentleman, went to the media again to subtly trash her and claim she’d dumped him because he was poor.
That isn’t true, Tila is now saying on her Facebook. However, she refrains from stating the exact reason, saying only that she made this decision with her baby’s best interest in mind.
“If the environment was not something healthy for the baby to be around then I believe it was God that was the one who took us away to a safer environment where we will be able to grow, and thrive,” she writes, adding that it was up to her as an adult to decide to break a vicious “cycle” for the sake of the baby.
“God tells me that everything will be just fine, and whatever other people have to say about me and my unborn baby, that is between them and God at the end of the day. Nor will I badmouth the Father of my child for the sake of my child. Nor do I believe it is classy to go off running your mouth to the media about it. I just do not work that way, but hey I cannot control what other people choose to do or say or what their true intentions are,” she continues.
She’s well aware that being a single mother won’t be easy for her, but she places her faith and hopes in God and herself, choosing to believe everything will turn out ok in the end. Tila insists that, despite the breakup and the badmouthing on part of Whitaker, she is very happy – the happiest she’s been in her life.
