GlavSoft, the company developing the remote control software TightVNC, has announced that the application has been updated to version 2.6. The fresh release does not incorporate too many modifications, but brings to the table improvements for the Server and Viewer components on Windows.

The main change in TightVNC 2.6 is that it comes with built-in SSH tunneling. It can also store the connection history in the Java Viewer, which received the update to version 2.6 back in late September.

Apart from this, the list of changes notes that the developer has also improved the performance of the Viewer on Windows.

TightVNC is a free (for both personal and commercial usage), cross-platform, remote desktop control software. It can be used to help solve problems on remote computers, thus proving useful especially for technical support.
