One of the most prominent modifications in the recently released TightVNC 2.5.2 refers to Java Viewer, which now supports full-screen mode. The new feature comes complete with optional auto-scaling, auto-scrolling and a pop-up toolbar.

Repairs are not lacking in this revision, which mends problems both in viewer and server components. For the latter, fixes refer to authentication handling in RFB protocol version 3.7 and a hang-up on changing language or keyboard layout. Also, fixed is the line ending characters in cross-platform clipboard transfers.

Improvements touch on the user interface. New commands are available in the toolbar and in the system menu. On the same note the viewer window size is adjusted on remote desktop resizing.

In the case of the server, the number of fixes is smaller and addresses a problem with querying local users on incoming connections and one with the disabled “Apply” button in the Configuration panel.
