Although only yesterday, reports had it that Elin Nordegren was in the balance about whether to file for divorce from Tiger Woods or give their marriage another try, today brings a twist in the story. Not only does the former model plans on being legally separated from Woods, but she’s also going for half his fortune and permanent custody of the two kids in the divorce settlement, the Herald Sun says.

As of now, reports are conflicting and, what’s more important, coming from sources that can’t be verified. Still, on the premise that there’s hardly ever smoke without a fire, they’re being picked up by the media. They say, as noted above, that Elin will also go for half of Woods’ estate (now estimated at roughly $600 million, which would mean about $300 million) and full custody of the two children they have together.

Other reports say that Elin may hit a wall in the divorce proceedings with the prenup she signed before she tied the knot with Woods, and which grants her only $20 million. A loophole to this may be found in the golfer’s admission to several “transgressions,” in that the contract might stipulate its previsions don’t apply in case of infidelity, law experts not connected to the case believe.

Moreover, should Nordegren get “too greedy,” then she will certainly lose, it is further being said. “While Woods has been criticized by public and media over his alleged cheating, Marc Ganis, president of Chicago-based Sports Corp, told the Boston Herald he thinks the golfer may find redemption once his wife looks money hungry. ‘Once his wife appears greedy in a divorce settlement, men will give Tiger sympathy,’ Ganis said. ‘Watch how fast men’s attitudes change. We’re a very forgiving society’,” the Herald Sun writes.

Be that as it may, the only thing certain at this point is that no decision regarding a divorce or a potential reconciliation has yet been made public to the press. When – and if – that happens, rest assured you’ll find out about it here.
