Developers need more time to increase the quality of the titles

Electronic Arts, one of the biggest video game publishers in the world, confirms that it has no plans to launch new titles in the Tiger Woods PGA Tour and the UFC franchises during the coming fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2014.

A representative from the company tells Joystiq that the two video games are still in development, but they need extra time in order to reach the quality level that Electronic Arts is expecting.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour was rumored to be canceled a few weeks ago, with EA said to be unwilling to further work on a brand that failed to generate big sales.

The UFC license was acquired in June 2012 from THQ and, presumably, Electronic Arts is still exploring how to best build a video game on the theme.
