A rumor suggests that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 15, the next installment in the long-running golf simulation title has been canceled at EA Sports, mainly in order to save resources on a project that tends to lose money each year.

Kotaku cites anonymous sources inside the company who say the game was supposed to be outsourced to a new team in order to allow the core of developers to work on Tiger Woods PGA Tour 16 for next-generation consoles.

Electronic Arts has not commented on the rumor.

Sources are also claiming that some of the developers working on Tiger Woods PGA Tour are now part of other teams inside EA Sports.

Recently, EA has been hit by a big wave of layoffs and it seems that EA Sports has lost about 10 percent of its staff.
