14 DAY TRIAL // Even though no confirmation has been made that wife Elin Nordegren attacked Tiger Woods with one of his golf clubs before the car crash at the end of November, reports in the media say the injuries he sustained from it were so bad he needed massive reconstructive surgery. Sports editor Furman Bisher got it from very reliable sources that, immediately after the altercation, Woods flew to Phoenix, Arizona, to have his face put back together by a surgeon, The Sun writes.
Bisher spoke with people close to Tiger and got the inside scoop on what exactly went down that night in November that pushed Elin over the edge and prompted her to become physically violent towards her husband. Apparently, Woods was out playing poker but had left his phone at home, which is how Elin got to read the text messages he had received from his mistresses.
When the golfer arrived home, Nordegren was upset and demanded an explanation, which Woods refused to give. It was then, Bisher says, that she took his nine iron and smashed his face with it, knocking out two teeth and breaking his cheekbone. Scared, Woods ran out of the house but she followed. When he got into the car, she smashed the rear window, and this distracted him so much that he smashed the vehicle into a fire hydrant and then a tree.
“At one point Tiger turned away to look at the TV and, as he turned back, Elin hit him on the right side of the face with the head of a nine iron. She put a huge gash in the right side of his face next to his nose, causing his nose to bruise some, virtually knocking two of his upper teeth out and breaking the bone on the upper right side,” The Sun quotes Bisher as saying.
“Tiger ran scared as hell out of the house, with Elin swinging the golf club, through the hallway to the garage,” the report further explains. Woods was then taken to the hospital, where he was admitted as an OD case and then boarded a plane to Arizona, where he immediately underwent plastic surgery to fix the gash in his face, it is also said.
