Staff at the Nandankanan Zoological Park in India are now trying to locate a five-year-old tiger that escaped from this animal park this past Saturday.

Although nobody has actually seen the tiger escape its enclosure, evidence suggests that the feline merely jumped over the 18-foot-tall (5.4 meters) wall that was supposed to keep it confined and soon enough disappeared into the nearby wilderness.

The police have also been alerted, and promise to do their best in pinning down the tiger's whereabouts, sources inform us.

They say that the animal is not known to be a man-eater or to feed on domestic animals, but warn that people would nonetheless do best to keep their distance from it should they happen to see it.

Interestingly enough, this tiger arrived at the zoo on its own accord towards the end of April. I can only assume it grew tired of its new home and decided to go looking for a new residence.
