Sure, China is dealing with a major air pollution crisis brought about by its heavily industrialized way. But nobody can say the country isn't at least trying to green up and improve on its ecological footprint.

Inhabitat says that Chinese energy developer Longyuan Power has successfully installed five wind turbines in Tibet's Nagqu County, at a height of 4.9 kilometers (3.1 miles) above sea levels.

The turbines reportedly form the world's highest wind farm.

The same source informs us that, over the next few years, Longyua Power hopes to install several more wind turbines in this area.

More precisely, said area in Tibet is to house a farm made up of 33 turbines. The planned wind farm is expected to cover nearly 312 acres, and have an energy generating capacity of 49.5 MW.
