Mozilla has officially released Thunderbird 24.0.1, an email and RSS client, for all the available platforms, including Linux.

The first maintenance version for Thunderbird 24 has been released and it comes with a few important bug fixes. There aren't any new features, but users should upgrade nonetheless.

According to the changelog, fully qualified domain names (fqdn) are now accepted as smtp/pop3/imap/news server names in the account manager, new messages appear blue instead of the link text color, a crash that occurred during newsgroup subscribe has been fixed, and the inline spell checking in the compose window is now working correctly.
