Some more solid info on the availability of HTC ThunderBolt on Verizon Wireless' airwaves in the United States might be really close to us, HTC suggests in some recent messages posted on Twitter and Facebook.

The handset was supposed to arrive on the US market a few weeks ago, some of the early rumors on its landing suggested, or this week the latest, as reported before.

However, Verizon did not put in on shelves as of now, nor did it unveil a specific release date for the high-end device.

But it might not be too long before the wireless carrier goes official with an exact date for ThunderBolt's availability, it seems.

“Thanks for your excitement! HTC and Verizon will officially announce the ThunderBolt launch dates soon,” HTC announced via Twitter.

Moreover, the handset vendor points at another message it posted online, this time on its Facebook account.

“There is a lot of excitement about the first Verizon LTE device, the HTC ThunderBolt. HTC and Verizon will officially and publicly announce the Thunderbolt launch dates soon. Please stay tuned for the debut of this great new device,” the phone maker stated.

In all fairness, all of this might be merely PR talk, so as to keep interest in the device alive, but it was about time for HTC and Verizon to say a few words on ThunderBolt's arrival, that's for sure.

The HTC ThunderBolt has indeed made it to the headlines a few times before, especially lately, when a great deal of rumors regarding its possible arrival on the market during March emerged into the wild.

While nothing was officially unveiled on this, we should note that the latest reports on this suggested that Verizon would plan on making it available on March 21st, ten days after the launch of Apple iPad 2.

HTC's announcement doesn't confirm nor does it deny these rumors, but only said that they would confirm a launch date soon, and the March 21st rumor might very well pan out in the end.

However, we should wait for the an official word on this to surface to learn the exact timing of the release, so stay tuned for additional details on the matter.

Update: Some of the latest news on the matter say that Verizon has already granted "conditional approval" for the ThunderBolt, which suggests that the launch might be imminent. Moreover, reports emerged on a HTC employee twitting that ThunderBolt would land on March 17th, though the message was quickly pulled.

I reserved my Thunderbolt at Best Buy on February 7 and the associate told me I would be able to pick it up on Feb. 14th (Valentines Day). Clearly I did not get my present that day and it seems obvious that, 1: Verizon and Best Buy are completely clueless, and 2: Verizon has the worst PR team imaginable. If the product was delayed for technical issues, Verizon should have Clearly stated that due to the brand new LTE technology involved, they were forced to delay the device and at least give their consumers the courtesy they deserve by explaining the general reasons for the delay and spell out that Verizon and HTC were in the process of upgrading software code to make the Thunderbolt as good as we have come to expect as HTC and Verizon's flagship model. Instead, Verizon has not even given a range of dates when they expect the T-bolt to be ready to stock in stores so that we do not have to continually suffer from one missed "leaked"deadline after another. Consumers are rightly frustrated and angry, and the fault lies squarely on Verizon's pigheaded non-response to this fiasco. Verizon, please change your ways, communicate better with your consumers, and, oh: fire your PR and Marketing teams.
