UK wireless carrier Three has announced a great deal for its users traveling in the United States, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Macau, as they will enjoy free roaming in these countries.

As part of its Feel At Home deal, the company enables its customers to use their data, text, call home, and receive calls from home when in these countries.

“We want customers to get the most out of their devices at home or abroad. High roaming charges stop people enjoying their phones while they’re away and Feel At Home is the antidote to that,” Dave Dyson, chief executive of Three, said.

At the moment, the Feel At Home proposition is available for users traveling in 11 countries, including the Republic of Ireland, Australia, Italy, Austria, Hong Kong, Sweden, and Denmark, in addition to the four newly announced destinations.

“Adding the USA to the mix is great news for our customers and shows our commitment to giving them the best experience in what is a popular destination. We plan to add more countries to the mix soon,” Dave Dyson said.

According to the carrier, its proposition has gained a lot of traction among end users. Feel At Home and 321 pay-as-you-go allowed the wireless carrier to top 7.8 million customers at the end of the third quarter of the year, up 9.7 percent from the same time frame a year ago.

“With a strong network foundation in place and a growing brand reputation, we’ve seen another quarter of improving profitability,” Richard Woodward, chief financial officer, said.

“We have also continued our customer growth in both the contract and prepaid markets through simple and enjoyable propositions like Feel at Home and 321. With nearly 8 million customers now on the Three network this is an excellent platform to continue to grow our financial performance.”

At the same time, the carrier announced that its 4G services were reaching more users that own compatible devices, and that it planned on accelerating the rollout of the service to more markets in the UK.

The wireless carrier plans on offering 4G services in 50 cities in the country by the end of the next year, and to deliver them to 98 percent of the population by the end of 2015.
