Last week Samsung announced the availability of the long-awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy S II devices.

However, only owners of unlocked Samsung Galaxy S II phone were able to upgrade to the latest version of Google’s operating system. Samsung stated that it could not give a timetable for ICS releases for carrier-bounded Galaxy S II units.

Even though most carriers were mum on the update, it appears that Three is among the first to deploy the upgrade for its customers.

The carrier announced via its support Twitter channel that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy S II is now available for download via Samsung Kies desktop software.

Keep in mind that you will need to download the latest version of Samsung Kies, and then connect the Galaxy S II to PC via USB cable after Kies is installed.
