Mobile phone carrier Three UK has just announced the availability of a new device on its airwaves, the HTC Flyer tablet PC, which is powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

The new device was already announced as being on its way to the wireless carrier, and has been listed on the company's website for a few months now as coming soon.

Moreover, the carrier announced only a few days ago that it made the Flyer available for pre-order, and now they went official with the full availability of the new device.

The tablet PC sports a 7-inch touchscreen display, and hides a 1.5GHz application processor beneath it, which results in a great experience delivered to users while on the go.

The Flyer also offers a series of unique features, such as HTC's Scribe technology, complemented by a digital pen, through which users can take notes on the device without having to use the virtual keyboard.

“It’s genuinely pocket-size, which makes a huge difference in my day-to-day routine. I have quite a commute to work and I’ve found myself downloading music, reading emails and checking the best route on apps like Google maps, while I’m on the train,” Graeme Worsfold notes on the carrier's blog.

The tablet PC offers support for a wide range of services, as well as for applications available for download via the Android Market.

The device also comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video recording capabilities, as well as with dual speakers, and with 32GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

“High-quality browsing in a highly portable package - staying in touch has never been easier. Featuring 7" screen, multi-window browsing with Pinch & Zoom, live video calling from your contact list, magic pen for drawing and lots more plus 5 megapixel camera and HD camcorder with dual speakers,” Three notes on its website.

The tablet PC can be seen on the carrier's website here, for £169 up front on the company's £30.99 a month plan (15GB of data allowance every month; 24 month contract).
