Starting today, mobile phone users in the UK interested in the purchase of a Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone can head over to wireless operator Three to reserve it for when it becomes available next month.

The wireless services provider has just announced on Twitter that pre-orders for the device are now open and that those who reserve it will also receive free speakers.

The handset will land on shelves at Three UK with support for the carrier’s 4G LTE network, which should make it a highly appealing option for a lot of users out there.

Xperia Z2 was made official last month during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, when Sony unveiled it in three color flavors, namely Black, White, and Purple, but it seems that only the first two versions will be available through Three.

The smartphone was put up for reservations with a price tag of £99 attached to it on the wireless carrier’s £38 per month plan, though other options are also available for interested users. It can already be seen on the company’s website.

According to Three, the handset is expected to start shipping to users on April 10, just one day before Samsung’s Galaxy S5 flagship device, also unveiled at the MWC last month, lands on the market.

Those of you looking to grab an Xperia Z2 smartphone might consider making the reservation as soon as possible, since the phone might actually see shortages when made available next month.

Sony has already confirmed that it could face stock issues with it and, although it did not offer info on which markets will be affected, we suspect that it will deliver a limited number of units in most countries out there, the UK included.

In case you didn’t have the chance to learn more on what Sony’s new flagship handset has to offer, you might want to know that it was launched with a 5.2-inch full HD touchscreen display, as well as with a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor inside.

Moreover, Sony unveiled it with a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back, capable of recording videos in 4K resolution. A front camera for making video calls is also available.

Sony Xperia Z2 arrives on shelves with the usual set of connectivity capabilities and sensors packed inside, while running under Google’s Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system.

Moreover, it comes with a great deal of software customizations coming from Sony themselves, as well as with exclusive applications, features, and services from the company.
