Today, wireless carrier Three UK and Norwegian software company Opera Software announced officially a partnership through which the Opera Mini mobile browser is being pre-loaded on various devices from the operator.

According to the duo, the new deal should result in the availability of a faster Internet browsing for all Three customers.

“Three’s customers are just a download away from getting Opera Mini installed on their mobile phones, with the software now available on Three’s portal. There is no fee for the application,” the mobile phone carrier also announced.

The Opera Mini mobile browser will offer Three users the possibility to surf on the same pages as they would do when on a desktop PC, while consuming far more data.

The mobile browser was designed so as to compress data by up to 90 percent before sending it to handsets, which results in a significantly reduced data load on the network.

According to the wireless carrier, the mobile browser would also prove a great option for users with older devices.

The mobile browser offers support for a number of no less than 3000 mobile phone models at the moment, including a wide range of older devices.

Basically, Opera Mini, the most popular mobile browser around the world, enables users to surf faster and use data in a more efficient manner.

“We want to bring the benefits of a great mobile Internet experience to all handsets, whether smartphones or not,” said Charlotte Blanchard, Three UK’s Director of Products and Services. “Opera Mini helps us extend that experience to an even greater range of devices.”

“We are excited to join forces with Three to make sure even more people get online with their mobile phones and make use of the full Web even on the go,” said Dag Olav Norem, VP of Mobile Products, Opera Software.

Opera Mini is available for download from Softpedia too, for Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Java, Palm OS, Symbian and Windows Mobile.
