Three UK is one of the last carriers that pushes Android 2.2 Froyo to its HTC Desire users. The announcement was made six hours ago on Twitter and mentions that the update will be live tomorrow October 14th at 16:00 (Taiwan time).

Version 2.25.771.1 of Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system will be pushed over-the-air (OTA) to all Three UK customers that own an HTC Desire smartphone.

The new update will bring a complete set of Android 2.2 features and it will contain a few special additions made specifically by HTC, such as the last version of its highly-acclaimed HTC Sense UI.

Besides the graphical changes, the new update will provide 720p video capture, HTC’s App Share widget, as well as the enhanced HTC Caller ID, and improved multi-language keyboard.

For those of you that are using iTunes to manage your music and also own an HTC Desire, the updated HTC Sync app will allow you to sync your music with iTunes.

The update will probably be pushed in waves, so don't bother to check for updates on your phone, at the exact hour specified in the twitted message.

The UK-based carrier already announced that users will be notified that the over-the-air update is available to download when their phone automatically checks for software updates.

It is good to know that the update will not delete any of the phone’s content, so you don't need no make any backups.

There's also an advise that you should take into consideration when updating to the latest Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.

Due to the size of the update, it is advised to us a Wi-Fi connection to download it wherever possible to avoid additional data charges or/and interrupts.

Stay tuned for more updates on the subject as soon as we receive it.
