Three UK, a wireless services provider, has confirmed plans to offer new purchase options for those looking to buy an iPad in the coming months. Benefits include more affordable prices when tying the purchase of a 3G iPad to a service plan, the operator said in a statement.

“Three UK today announced it will offer new purchase options for iPad users, including more affordable prices when purchased with a data service plan, for iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G models in the coming months,” the company says on its web site’s media center.

The announcement continues with a brief description of the iPad’s capabilities (the standard Apple description, if we’re not mistaking):

“iPad allows users to connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before. Users can browse the web, read and send email, enjoy and share photos, watch HD videos, listen to music, play games, read ebooks and much more, all using iPad’s revolutionary Multi-Touch user interface.”

Finally, the operator directs potential customers to Apple’s web site for more information about the tablet.

On the official Three UK web site, the wireless services provider touts its 3G network as an “advanced” one, adding that it has scored high marks in a survey by YouGov when tested against Apple’s iPhone.

"Our network is an advanced 3G network, designed to give you a faster, smoother mobile internet experience. In an independent research study by YouGov, we were rated No.1 network for iPhone, best for internet speed, connectivity and reliability. So with us you can get the most out of your iPhone."

Touting the controversial iPhone 4 as an excellent match with a given operator’s 3G network would have translated into massive sales, given the antennagate fiasco.

Since the operator fails to specify which particular iPhone model those tests were carried out on, we’re guessing it was either the 3G or the 3GS model.

The company also has iPhone Help & Support, a FAQ section for Apple smartphone users, as well as iPhone accessories, via its accessories store.

iPad fans looking for pay-as-you go options from Three UK can choose from two Micro-SIM cards, one preloaded with 1GB of data that lasts for 30 days, the other preloaded with 3GB for three months. The former goes for 10 quid, the latter for 20.
