It so happens that Lenovo is not the only company to have made a move on the display market this week, though Philips' own products are geared at least as much towards consumers as they are towards businesses.

Monitors and LCD TVs are something of a fact of life nowadays, as it is common for a household to own a PC and a TV, among other things.

Not long age, Lenovo even played its part in showing that even businesses have reached the point where they cannot really make do without computers.

What Philips did, however, was offer something to more than just the businesses sector, namely six lines of consumer monitors.

Granted, as reports have it, Philips did this indirectly, as the one that truly made the revelation is MMD (Multimedia Display), a company owned by TPV, one of, if not the largest PC monitor maker worldwide.

The five series go by C-Line, E-Line, B-Line, V-Line, S-Line and P-Line, only the last three of these having businesses and professional use in mind.

More specifically ,B-Line monitors are for large businesses, the S-Line are for standard/small ones and P-Line look to other professionals.

As for the rest, C-Line displays are of the high-end variety, while E-Line are of the essential range and the V-Line for the Value range.

The folks over at VR-Zone were present at the launch event and got a close look at some of the monitors, like the Moda, a 23.6-inch LCD with backlit controls, a die-cast aluminum stand, HDMI, VGA and no DVI.

This is most likely a sort of flaghsip as far as this new range is concerned, an assumption apparently supported by the fact that a white version of it was showcased alongside the original one.

Sales should start next week, for an unspecified price, though the white Moda will only arrive in October, followed by another one, in December, featuring the Lightframe technology.
