They are all made of aluminum and have one big fan in the middle

People might not have expected it a few years ago, but laptop coolers seem to be coming out a lot these days, even though the lower energy use of CPUs and, thus, lower TDP makes them less essential. Enemrax has just revealed three.

Then again, it's not like laptop cooling stands will be bought by anyone besides people who have the money to spare.

And since people with the money to spare usually have a high-end (and, thus, hot) notebook anyway, it makes sense that companies like Enermax would keep up their activities.

The three new coolers are called Aeolus Pure, TwisterOdio 18 and AeroOdio. Each of them focuses on a certain asset.

The Aeolus Pure emphasizes good looks, hence the “Pure Elegance” epithet in the press release. Priced at €38 / $51, it is a brushed aluminum product with low, tilted profile and wrist rest. The fan has a diameter of 250 mm and can be adjusted to one of two speeds.

TwisterOdio 18 is made for multimedia laptops, so it has a 120 mm fan that doesn't make much noise (800 – 1400 RPM) and an integrated DreamBass amplifier, plus full-range satellite speakers.

The design is otherwise similar, in many ways, to that of the Aeolus series: “clean shapes with a brushed aluminum cooling grid.”

Like on the other cooler, power is provided through a USB connector. An integrated speed control knob allows for the RPM adjustment. All this for €35 / $47.

That leaves the AeroOdio, for “Deep Bass & Efficient Cooling.” It has a “futuristic and striking outlook,” an integrated audio system like the TwiterOdio 18, and a 220 mm fan. The price is of €42 / $57.

All the new Enermax coolers can handle notebooks of up to 17 inches in diagonal. Buy one and never have to worry about fried pants or skirts.
