Two bad, one good

Following the recent release of LEGO Indiana Jones, hot on the heels of the new Indiana Jones movie featuring one Crystal Skull, Traveller's Tales has announced three of the new characters that will be making an appearance in LEGO Batman, the next installment in the now very successful LEGO series of games.

The villains in the game are getting reinforcements in the form of Clayface and Bane. We already know that the Joker will be there to make crime fighting hard for the caped crusader, so adding these two as well can only spell more trouble. Clayface is one twisted individual who has the unusual habit of injecting himself with the essence of his fallen fellow thugs. Because of this, he has the ability to turn into different people, which in the comic books leads to a bit of schizophrenia. In the game, his "injections" translate into the ability to stretch parts of his body and to employ super strength against his enemies.

Bane is another one of those tougher than expected villains. He did time in jail and he used it to study the effects of medication on human biology. This got him selected for a program that aimed to create a powerful super soldier. The program worked better than expected, as thanks to it Bane got himself out of prison and onto the streets of Gotham. In the game, he has the power to walk through toxic areas without being affected and he also possesses super strength.

The good guys get to play around with only one new character, the former Robin gone solo dark stalker called Nightwing. His real name is Dick Grayson and he had a falling out with Batman (probably over who had the cooler costume). In the game, he is a bonus character that can use all the technology suits that belong to Robin.

The game is set to launch sometime later in the fall and there's talk that Traveller's Tale might do a demo as well, so be on the lookout for a Batsign.
