The same hackers have also targeted hundreds of commercial websites from Syria

A group of hackers allegedly based in Syria have breached and defaced three Syrian government websites and a few hundred commercial websites.

The attackers – RBG Homs, Silent Injector and Syrian Hexor – targeted the websites of the Agricultural Bank of Public Administration (agrobank.gov.sy), the Directorate of Culture in Damascus (damascusculture.gov.sy), and syrianet.gov.sy.

In the case of the Directorate of Culture in Damascus, the hackers haven’t defaced only the main domain, but 8 subdomains as well.

On the defaced pages, the hackers posted a Syrian flag, a video that depicts violence in Syria, and an anti-government message.

It’s worth noting that this is not the first time when these sites are hacked. They were breached by other hackers earlier this year. This indicates that their administrators haven’t patched them up after the first round of attacks.

At the time of writing, the website of the Agricultural Bank has been restored, but the others have been taken offline.
