Even though there have been a slew of hardware pictures coming out lately, the phenomenon doesn't look ready to stop. Adding to this long streak of hardware set for launch during 2010 are three motherboards from Gigabyte. The hardware maker seems to have already put together two micro-ATX motherboards and one ATX form factor board. The products are based on the H55 chipset and compatible with both current 45nm LGA-1156 processors, as well as upcoming 32nm process-based chips.
The two micro-ATX motherboards are the ATX GA-H55M-S2H and GA-H55M-UD2H. The entry-level motherboard ATX GA-H55M-S2H has two DDR3 DIMM slots capable of dual channel memory, and has one PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot and a PCI-Express x16 (electrical x4), as well as two PCI slots. The product is built with six internal SATA 3 Gbps ports, eight USB 2.0, a combo PC/2 port for keyboard or a mouse, and has display connectivity options, which include DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI connectors. The motherboards also has a seven-phase VRM with solid-state capacitors (the rest of the board uses the standard type).
The GA-H55M-UD2H has the same VRM as the H55M models and its feature set is rather similar to that of the ATX GA-H55M-S2H. Still, its specs make it somewhat superior through increased expansion capabilities and Ultra Durable 3 Classic construction. One of the board's six SATA ports is assigned as eSATA and the rear panel is equipped with FireWire besides the USB 2.0 connectors.
The card's construction features all solid-state capacitors and 2 oz copper PCB. The card also has eight-channel audio with optical SPDIF in its rear panel and features the same DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI display connectivity options as its sibling.
The last motherboard in the line is the ATX GA-H55-UD3H. This card has seven expansion slots, specifically a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot, one PCI-Express x16 (x4), a PCI-E x1 and four PCI slots.
It has the same Ultra Durable 3 Classic construction like the GA-H55M-UD2H and all of its six SATA ports are internal. The board has a 2 oz copper PCB and all of its other features identical to the H55M models, including the CPU VRM.
All cards are equipped with DES (Dynamic Energy Saver) 2 and will become available in Q1 2010 for prices under 120 Euro.
