The case also has blue LEDs for visual embellishment

Enermax has formally launched a desktop case that is supposed to grab user attention even if they've been spending their past several hours browsing, and thus, don't have the patience to waste any more time on the outer shell of their systems than they need to.

DIY systems are all well and good, but when you're assembling a PC from parts like that, you're liable to spend hours just looking at CPUs, motherboards and video cards.

Add to that the time spent needling through memory and other hardware options, not to mentioned peripherals, and the case is the last thing you'll get to choose.

And since you'll probably be tired or just not in the mood for browsing much at that point, you might just choose the first thing that grabs your attention. Especially since most cases have the same internal capabilities and compartments.

The Enermax Thormax GT is supposed to stand out more than the rest, by virtue of its sheer size, as well as the look of its side panel.

The chassis is one of the few enclosures in the world with space for E-ATX motherboards, which means that all but the hugest workstation mainboard (XL-ATX) will fit inside it.

By extension, even the largest video boards will fit, with length of up to 490 mm / 19.29 inches. That should be more space than even the best NVIDIA (GeForce GTX Titan Z) and AMD (Radeon R9 295 X2) are likely to need.

Sure, some of the next generation boards might be larger, but we doubt it, especially with the emphasis on efficiency that seems to dominate the PC industry now.

Anyway, the case also has room for 240mm and 360mm liquid coolers, as well as five storage bays (2.5/3.5-inch), plus four 5.25-inch bays.

All in all, the Enermax Thormax GT full tower case should do well as a home for a gaming juggernaut. Even its side panel looks unique, with the side window basically twisted, curled really, around the vent of a large side fan (180 mm Vegas Blue).

Availability and Pricing

Sadly, Enermax did not specify this information in its press release, so we don't know it. Considering everything above, the front I/O panel (audio, 2 x USB 30 and 4 x USB 2.0 ports, 4-level fan RPM controller) and the 360-degree rotatable feet, it will be considerable. You even get a carrying handle and a foldable, movable magnetic holder for headphones.
