This Year, Santa Comes Via USB

The Christmas shopping spree is almost upon us, and that's the reason why more and more companies are presenting their holiday-branded (or should I say Santa-branded) products. And since USB drives have become a very
important part of our daily lives during the past years, the Vafor Tech company has decided to launch a very special product that merges USB with Christmas, namely the CUF271 USB Flash Drive.

As you probably expected, the device is shaped like a Christmas stocking, just waiting for the presents (in this case, your data). However, it seems that the designers were not at all happy with a simple boot, so they went ahead and merged it with a chimney. Why? Well, probably to offer a way down for the small, yet happy Santa featured on the upper side of the device, which goes up and down whenever you stick or remove the drive from your USB port. The CUF271 USB Flash Drive is available in 128MB/256MB/1G/2GB variants, and is also smart dual bootable at USB-HDD or USB-ZIP. Here is a short list of the most important characteristics and features this Christmas drive has to offer:

- interface: USB 2.0 or USB1.1;
- compatible operating systems: Windows98/Me/2000/XP, Linux2.4.x, MacOS9.1/Mac OS X;
- smart dual bootable at USB-HDD or USB-ZIP;
- data retention period: over 10 years;
- LED indicator: light flashing, reading and writing data;
- reading speed: 1,000kB/s;
- writing speed: 750kB/s;
- operating temperature: -10~55 Celsius degrees (guess it also works in Santa's North Pole home, doesn't it?).

We couldn't find anything on the subject of pricing, but we'll surely find out more in the following week, since Christmas is approaching quite rapidly and these things could make for an excellent holiday present.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
