Sunday evening retweet from the iBookstore gives Apple a bad rep

Whoever handles (handled) Apple’s Twitter accounts probably follows a lot of dirty spammers too, as one retweet from the company’s iBookstore handle caused quite a bit of stir yesterday.

A retweet stemming from Apple’s iBookstore account Sunday evening containing expletive commentary got picked up by a flurry of Twitter users, with some even deciding to unfollow seconds later.

Let alone the fact that the tweet itself (pictured above) doesn’t even make much sense, the content of the message obviously has nothing to do with e-books, the iBookstore, iTunes, or anything that Apple might even remotely consider to approve.

The person put in charge with the iBookstore’s Twitter account most likely got fired first thing this morning, despite having deleted the tweet in question moments after it had been sent out to hundreds of thousands of followers.
