Let's face it, the online world is a magical, mystical place where, too often, utterly idiotic videos and photos go viral.

Hence, imagine my surprise when I learned that the same thing happened to a positively stunning picture that looks nothing like the ones folks usually like to share.

The photo, available next to this article, shows a great white shark plunging out of the water looking to sink its teeth into two fish heads hanging from a diving cage. Then again, maybe the beast was just admiring the view.

Whatever its reasons for sticking its head out of the water to check out the world above the ocean's surface, the fact of the matter is that this photo is by far one of the best wildlife pictures I have until now had the chance to lay eyes on.

According to Aol, the photo was taken by a primary school art teacher from New Jersey, US, who chanced to come face to face with this shark while cage-diving in the waters off the coast of South Africa.

The woman, named Amanda Brewer, is very fond of sharks and is working closely with environmental group White Shark Africa to save these animals from going extinct.

“When you're there and you're in their presence, it's not scary. They're beautiful and graceful, and you can see how intelligent they are,” the school teacher reportedly told the press in a recent interview.
