14 DAY TRIAL // Booze has been our friend and our most loyal companion for centuries now, so it should not come as such a big surprise that we're finally building up the courage to pay our respects to it by designing and creating clothes in its honor.
Not to beat about the bush, it appears that, soon enough, we'll get to see people walking around dressed in a so-called drinking jacket especially designed to keep the wearer warm and their beverage of choice cold.
This odd jacket, photos of which are included in the gallery below, is the brainchild of a self-proclaimed professional drinker named Zane Lamprey. What's interesting is that the man did not purposely set out to create it.
He says that, one day, he started thinking about how cool it would be to add a bottle opener to an otherwise perfectly normal hoodie. One thing led to another and so the drinking jacket was born.
Possibly the best jacket in the world
Zane Lamprey's jacket, which should be available in gray, maroon, black and blue, comes complete with a neoprene-lined pocket for your beer, a hidden pocket for your flask, and a zipper than doubles as bottle opener.
The drinking jacket also packs all sorts of other pockets of all shapes and sizes, just in case there are people in this world who aren't satisfied with having just one can of beer and one flask close at hand.
Mind you, the drinking jacket even has a sunglasses holder and special mitts designed to keep your favorite cocktail forever attached to your hand. Fear not, there's also room for your ID and money.

How soon is soon enough?
As mentioned, it is only a matter of time until the world's first drinking jackets hits the public eye. Thus, it was just a few hours ago that the Kickstarter fundraising campaign in support of this project ended, and Zane Lamprey expects that he will ship his first jackets sometime in March 2015.
Just for the record, it must be said that, when he launched his fundraising campaign on Kickstarter, the self-proclaimed professional drinker expected to raise some $50,000 (about €41,000). He ended up making $575,000 (roughly €470,000) instead.
