Called Archer ICE, it has a supporting area for the hand palm and index finger

Mice come in various shapes and sizes, but even the ambidextrous ones don't usually have a design that can prevent your fingers or wrists from starting to ache after a certain period of uninterrupted game time.

Spire's new Archer ICE tries to eliminate one of the bigger pain triggers by allowing your palm and index finger to rest more. Quite useful if you work 8 hours a day on a computer.

The shape of the peripheral is decidedly uncanny, as can easily be seen in the image gallery. The whole thing is arched, with a vertical design, and will allow for a better wrist and arm position as well.

Moreover, the 5D optical sensor has a high accuracy, and the 1.5-meter / 5-foot-long USB 3.0/2.0 cable will be more than enough for any desk or home setups.

Spire could have probably gone with wireless technology, but it is unnecessary for an office peripheral, and the price of $49.95 / €36.95 is already high enough without that adding to it.

To be sure, the Archer ICE might take some getting used to, but the comfort and health benefits should be enough of an incentive, or so Spire hopes. Sales have only started in China for now, but European countries will get shipments after the ongoing month of July, 2014 has passed.
