Derrick Barry wasn't always a Britney Spears impersonator
Growing up, the man, now 31 years old, never even imagined he would make a career putting on dresses, blond wigs, and dancing and singing at the top of his lungs on a stage, with dozens of people staring at him.
It all started one Halloween when Derrick Barry decided to put on a Britney Spears outfit, just to have some fun with his buddies. Little did he know that his choice of a costume would turn out to be a roaring success.
When both his family and his friends were left fascinated with his performance, the man decided to become a full-time Britney Spears impersonator and star in shows in Las Vegas.
Derrick Barry says that, although some might find his job weird, the fact of the matter is that he is a guy just like any other. As for his Britney Spears outfits, they are uniforms that he must put on when reporting for duty.
“I enjoy waking up as myself and then this is my uniform,” the man told the press in an interview, as cited by Oddity Central. “For me, it’s just like being in theater, wearing a wig and makeup and bringing a character to life.”
This one time, on The Tonight Show, Derrick Barry had the chance to perform in front of the singer herself. Needless to say, the real Britney was pretty much left speechless.

Since his first show in Las Vegas until now, Derrick Barry has made some $500,000 (€445,000). This just goes to show how good a Britney Spears impersonator he is.
True, his moves and his singing voice are something he had to work long and hard to perfect. His looks, however, are all Mother Nature's doing.
Thus, the man insists that he hasn't had any plastic surgery done and that he just naturally looks like Britney Spears when strutting around in high heels and a sparkly dress.
