Acooo launches the OneBoard PRO+ keyboard computer

A company called Acooo (not to be confused with Aku from a certain cartoon about a temporally displaced samurai) has officially introduced a product named OneBoard PRO+.

When looked upon from above, the newcomer looks more or less like any other keyboard out there, although an admittedly colorful one.

While the main body is made of aluminum (and thus, is quite grey), the keys (all of them black, true enough) have their markers colored green, red, blue or yellow.

It's Acooo's way of differentiating between the special and the more pedestrian ones, although the WASD and other common game buttons didn't get special treatment.

This is because this is not exactly a pure gaming peripheral, but a full-featured PC disguised as one.

The Acooo OneBoard PRO+ is a keyboard-shaped ARM-based computer

Since it's ARM technology we're talking about, the performance is pretty low compared to any other system out there, save some tablets and netbooks maybe.

Then again, as far as ARM-based processors go, the RockChip RK2388 quad-core processor isn't half bad, with its 1.8 GHz clock and 2 GB of RAM backing it up. In addition to that, Acooo gave its peripheral 16 GB of internal storage space.

If nothing else, you'll be able to play the mobile version of Injustice: Gods Among Us if you end up somewhere away from home but have a TV handy. To that end, Acooo included an HDMI cable.

When linked to a normal PC, the Acooo OneBoard PRO+ will do all that a mechanical keyboard is supposed to do.

In fact, it even has a headphone port and, yes, key backlighting (that's where the aforementioned button colors come from).

Needless to say, the Android operating system (namely Android 4.4 OS) comes into play when you decide to switch from PC to keyboard-based smart TV/monitor mode.

Availability

The Acooo OneBoard PRO+ has a price of $299 / €260, which is pretty steep, but at least you get two USB 2.0 ports, an SD card reader and an HDMI output out of it. And the 3.5mm audio port on the left side, of course.
