Before Photokina 2014 had a chance to properly start, some photo gear manufacturers like Nikon have already let the cat out of the bag and launched a few products, which will surely be put on display on the grounds in Germany.

Anyway, Samsung is expected to hold a press event at Photokina 2014, and one of the most interesting products that should see the light of day under its banner is the NX1 mirrorless camera.

Check-out one the first images detailing the NX1

The camera has been teased here and there and we already know most of its specs, but now Photo Rumors has received the first batch of images showing the NX1 camera in all its glory.

Until now, we had a bunch of shady images showing us bits and pieces of the camera, but now the veil has been lifted and you can get a decent idea of what the shooter will look like when it arrives to the market.

Now, for those of you who can’t remember, we’re going to do a little roundup detailing the specs. The NX1 will take advantage of a 28MP APS-C ISOCELL sensor (which apparently is the best the market has ever seen) working in concert with a DRIMe Image Signal processor and will benefit from 154 cross type autofocus points.

The camera will arrive with phase detection of pixels on sensor and will be able to shoot at more than 10fps.

Moving along, the NX1 will have a full HD EVF (touted to be the best on the market once more) and a weathersealed body.

The NX1 camera will arrive with 4K

Now, the best feature on the NX1, and most of you will probably agree with this, is that it will be able to shoot in 4K (meaning 3840 x 2160 pixel res at 30p/24p).

Other specifications of this mirrorless beast include a hybrid autofocus system / 2nd generation of Phase Detection Auto Focus system and an ISO capacity set between 100-51,200.

Last but not least, we should note that the NX1 will have a 3-inch tiltable AMOLED touch display, so you will also be able to use the camera to snap a few selfies, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Like most Samsung cameras, this will be a social-media friendly one by virtue of having embedded Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. The camera should arrive with a body made of magnesium alloy, and that’s pretty evident in the images.

According to the recent leaks, the device should make it into retail with a price tag of around €1,499 / $1,904, but this remains to be seen.
