Microsoft restyled the Recycle Bin icon in build 10056

The first screenshots of Windows 10 build 10056 have reached the web earlier today, and in addition to a number of changes, they also reveal a brand new Recycle Bin icon, which confirms that Microsoft is well aware of the criticism happening online lately and is now working to address it.

The Recycle Bin icon that was included in build 9926 was heavily criticized by many, with some users posting videos online to demonstrate that the very same icon can be designed in MS Paint or Microsoft Word in under five minutes.

Truth is, Microsoft tried to embrace a full flat design for Windows 10, but the choices it made for the icon pack weren’t the best, so the company is now working to improve the OS in this regard.

Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, said a few weeks ago that the icons we were seeing at that time were just part of an early UI, confirming that icons would change in future builds.

Enter build 10056

Fortunately, it seems that Microsoft has really been hard at work to make this happen as soon as possible, and now build 10056 comes with a new Recycle Bin icon that seems to look a bit more… complex.

This time, you might need around 10 minutes to design it in Paint, but there’s no doubt that it looks a little bit better than the one in build 9926.

Right now, there’s no indication that Windows 10 build 10056 could come with other new icons, besides the one for Recycle Bin, but Russian leaker WZor, who also posted these early screenshots online, promised to reveal not only more details but also what could be a fully working ISO of the new build.

In the meantime, the only thing we have is this teaser with the new Recycle Bin icon, so make sure you drop us a line in the comment box after the jump to let us know if you like it or not.

Update: it turns out that the new Windows 10 Recycle Bin icon might be inspired from the one in Windows 98.
