Microsoft will take over New York’s Times Square in less than 90 minutes with what’s supposed to be the largest marketing effort in the United States.

In an attempt to show people the brand new Start Screen feature bundled into Windows 8, Microsoft will recreate the biggest Start Screen right in Times Square.

As you can see in this picture shot a few minutes ago, the billboards are already prepared for Microsoft’s marketing push, as the new operating system will go live in approximately one hour and a half.

Microsoft will most likely reveal similar ads all around the world, as it is trying to bring both the OS and the Surface closer to its consumers.

Windows 8 will officially go on sale tomorrow, but we’ll keep you posted with any information that will be released during the launch event.
