AdWords Editor is an extremely useful application for most of the AdWords publishers as it allows them to manage their advertising campaigns without visiting the official page of the product. Recently, Google rolled out AdWords Editor 3.5, a new version of the program that includes a lot of new functions such as image ads, drag and drop support and region and city targeting. Although most of the users are encouraged to update to the latest version of the application just after it is released, Google is now offering an ultimatum for it, saying that older versions will not be supported anymore.

Basically, you're required to update AdWords Editor before July 10, 2007 because older versions, including 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0, will no longer be supported by the advertising platform.

"We'd like to ask anyone still using AdWords Editor 2.0, 2.5, or 3.0 to upgrade to the latest version (3.5) before July 10, 2007. After July 10, versions 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0 will no longer be supported. To upgrade, just follow the automatic download prompt that appears whenever you start AdWords Editor," the AdWords team said today.

Along with the notification, the AdWords team also debuted a new "versioning policy", sustaining that the older versions of the application will be supported for 60 more days every time a new edition of the tool is released. In this 60-day period, you're required to update the program to the latest version.

"Also, in order to optimize our resources and provide the best experience for you, we've implemented a new versioning policy. Each time we release a new version of AdWords Editor, the older version will be supported for 60 days to allow time for you to upgrade," the AdWords team added.

As usual, the latest version of the AdWords Editor was also tested by Softpedia and it is available as a free download on this link.
