14 DAY TRIAL // 47-year-old Byron Schlenker from Syracuse, New York, and his 14-year-old daughter Emily both have freakishly wide tongues. In fact, Byron's is now officially recognized as the world's absolute widest.
Thus, the man's tongue measures an impressive 3.37 inches (8.55 centimeters) across. Emily's, on the other hand, is 2.89 inches (7.34 centimeters) wide.
“It's roughly more than 2 centimeters [0.78 inches] wider than the new iPhone 6,” the man commented on the width of his tongue in an interview, as cited by HuffPost.

True, 47-year-old Byron Schelenker's tongue is now considerably wider than that of his 14-year-old daughter. Then again, chances are that, in time, Emily will set a new record for tongue width.
More so seeing how, for the time being, young Emily Schlenker holds the Guinness record for the widest tongue belonging to a woman ever documented.
People can't stop staring at Byron and Emily
The 47-year-old and his teenage daughter say that the size of their tongue does not bother them in the slightest. Having people constantly stare at them, however, can be a bit annoying.
“It does feel a little weird,” said 14-year-old Emily. “Most people are just surprised I can talk normally. I get stopped by people at the grocery store or when I'm out in town to take a picture,” her father added.
The 47-year-old man says that, this one time, he had a woman walk up to him and ask him to lick her copy of the Guinness World Records book documenting the width of his tongue.
Being a respectable man with a wife and kids, but also for the sake of personal health and hygiene, Byron Schkenler respectfully declined the woman's request.
As for the man's wife and Emily's mother, it looks like she does her best to simply ignore the fact that her husband and her daughter are the proud keepers of the world's widest tongues.
“We try to keep it clean. We are a wholesome family with three young ladies in the house so we just kind of laugh it off,” the woman, named Vicki, said in a statement.
