Rapid Mobile Media, an Edinburgh, UK-based developer of mobile application and software platforms, has recently announced the release of its ThinkPhone series of products, which is designed to bring interactive Web applications to mobile phones. The ThinkPhone family includes ThinkPhone Design, ThinkPhone Direct and ThinkPhone Deliver.

The ThinkPhone Design framework allows the development of interactive mobile applications, such as games. These can be used on any “suitable mobile phone,” after being ported through the ThinkPhone Deliver platform.

Presented as a content management platform, ThinkPhone Direct can deliver and optimize rich mobile Web services, for most of the latest handsets. The software platform can be easily integrated into an already existing infrastructure, having the ability of automatically re-skinning a wide range of mobile Web sites.

Talking about the new mobile products, Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Rapid Mobile Media, Dr. Richard M. Marshall, declared, "There are significant challenges in delivering easy to use and engaging services to an increasingly diverse universe of mobile phone types. Our unique self-learning device knowledge database underpins all of our ThinkPhone and Ad360 platforms. This not only enables automatic application and content optimization, but ensures support for new phones as they enter the market, without any intervention or further engineering costs."

"Proven commercial deployments demonstrate how our ThinkPhone application and service delivery platforms enable our customers to engage with mobile users,” Rapid Mobile Media's Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Copp added. “As well as delivering services such as Metro Mobile, Betfair Mobile and the Jackpotjoy mobile portfolio, the ThinkPhone platforms are fully integrated with Ad360, our mobile advertising platform. This means that high-quality display advertising can be delivered into both applications and mobile Internet sites as a monetization mechanism."

For the time being, no details are available on the price of Rapid Mobile Media's ThinkPhone series of products.
