Less than a month after the release of the first trailer for “Journey 2: Mysterious Island,” comes a second look at the film loosely based on Jules Vernes' book by the same name. This time, there's no room for laughter. The film is a sequel to the incredibly successful “Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D,” which literally wrote the book on 3D special effects.
As we also
told you earlier this month, the sequel definitely doesn't rise to expectations in this regard.
The second trailer is dead-serious, but the effects remain relatively low-budget. Because of this, the sense that the island is a terrifyingly dangerous place that it's trying to convey is somehow lost on the viewer.
With all that, kids will most likely enjoy the film. It comes out in theaters in February 2012.
