ifoAppleStore is reporting that Woodcliff Lake (NJ) Police arrested three men who attempted to run off with several "duffle bags... filled with Apple products." The police believe there is a fourth thief involved, while the suspects may also be linked to a previous jewelry store burglary.

"Police in Woodcliff Lake (NJ) responded to a 3 a.m. burglary alarm at the Tice's Corner Apple store on June 17th, and arrested three men they found after a search," ifoAppleStore reported yesterday. According to the folks handling all news and information about Apple's Retail stores, "officers arrived to find that the suspects had entered an empty furniture store next to Apple's space, and had used pry bars, sledgehammers, saws and other tools to smash through the wall so they could enter the [Apple] store." Huh...! I honestly thought Apple stores were like fortresses.

Whatever happened to the George Clooney-type of robber? Why do these guys only exist in movies? Could it be so hard to just take a few weeks to learn some technique, and do it intelligently, not violently?

The same report mentions that "several duffle bags had been filled with Apple products," but the alarm went off at one point "sending the suspects fleeing." The Woodcliff Lake police picked up two individuals sitting in a "nearby" (getaway) car, while a third suspect was "tracked to a storm drain by police canine unit." Well, at least we have dogs that act just like in the movies.

"Police believe there was a fourth suspect and are trying to identify him," the publication notes, adding that it is possible for the suspects to be linked to a previous burglary occurring at a nearby jewelry store as well. As you would have guessed, the New Jersey store had to be closed so workers could repair the wall.
