The PlayStation 4 edition of the upcoming Thief title will take full advantage of the PlayStation 4's new DualShock 4 controller, making use of its light bar, its touchpad, or even the motion controls built into the new device.

Thief is set to debut next year for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox 360, so developer Eidos Montreal wants to take full advantage of the next-gen consoles and their different perks and features.

One such example is the DualShock 4 controller of the PlayStation 4, as the new Thief title is going to use its new features to various degrees, according to Eidos Montreal's Stephane Roy.

"For the DualShock 4, we use the light bar to reflect the light gem in the in-game UI, which indicates if Garrett is in the shadows or not. It creates a nice feeling when you play in the dark to see it illuminate or darken as you move through the environment," he told PS blog.

"Additionally, the touch pad allows for better menu navigation and makes for a more intuitive way to perform various actions, like navigating the map or selecting weapons."

The Sixaxis motion controls have also been greatly improved by Sony with the DualShock 4 and Eidos will take advantage of them in certain areas of the game.

"What impressed us were not only the new features of the DualShock 4, but how the existing ones have been improved. The best example of that is the motion control, which is way more precise than before. You can use it to adjust your aiming with the bow and the level of accuracy we get with it is really impressive."

Of course, the Share button on the new controller will be used by players, as Eidos Montreal has implemented many choices in terms of gameplay, which will make people really excited about showcasing their adventures.

Thief is set to debut on February 25 in North America, and February 28 in Europe, for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
