All the time that he spent married to pop star Britney Spears (about two years, no more) Kevin Federline used to tell all those who wanted to hear (and also to those who didn't) that he is not one of those guys that live off their wives, that he earns his own pocket and spending money and blah-blah-blah.
As a matter of fact, this summer, K-Fed, the self-titled 'America's most hated', said that he was almost broke because the $2 million he got paid for the reality show he did with Brit Brit, 'Chaotic', were spent on buying her a diamond ring and on a recording studio for him. Then, he added, the rest of what he spent (meaning, on shoes, hats, clothes and for the weekly trips to Vegas) came from his modeling job, his live gigs and his various appearances at parties as special guest (for which people actually paid him $20,000 per night!).
For those who are still in the dark with the 'modeling' job, Kevin Federline used to be a hired 'model' (using the term loosely, of course) for Five Star Vintage, a clothing label owned by the Blue Marlin clothing company. They hired him during the summer and then re-hired him back in September, for his unmistakable 'renegade style'.
However, nothing was heard of him from the moment the divorce was made public and sources tell news agency TMZ that he is no longer working with them. Even more, K-Fed seemed to have the ability to virtually sink the entire clothing label (which also led to the firing of the marketing executive who contacted K-Fed in the first place), as the brand can't be found on the market any more. Also, the official website is out, probably on account of the brand losing its 'face'.
Contacted by TMZ for comment, a spokesperson for Blue Marlin claimed that Five Star Vintage still exists, although he did admit that it has been having some difficulties. As expected, a publicist for Federline could not be reached to answer questions from the media.
