The FIFA 15 demo is out on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC since yesterday, ready for everyone to take the game for a spin and see what's new and, most importantly, what's better in the new version.

The PC version of the football video game's demo requires users to use the Origin client, but it's not that big of a hassle for a free demo, especially considering one very important aspect: you'll be able to benchmark your system against EA Sports' new Ignite engine.

The powerful engine is used by EA Sports' all recent sports games, and will continue to be used for all of the company's upcoming sports video games, so in case you're a fan of any of the series that the publisher works on, you'd do well to see whether you have what it takes to run them smoothly.

EA Sports has also revealed what the minimum and recommended PC specs are for the upcoming FIFA 15.

Minimum

You'll need Windows Vista, 7, 8 or 8.1 – the 64-bit editions – to run the game, with at least an Intel Q6600 Core2 Quad @ 2.4 GHz or AMD Phenom 7950 Quad-Core or AMD Athlon II X4 620 processor on board and 4 GB of RAM.

In addition to this, the game requires a dedicated video card to power all of its next-gen graphics, with EA Sports revealing that you'll need at least an ATI Radeon HD 5770 or Nvidia GTX 650 or better to play the game.

Recommended

If you want to truly enjoy the full experience that FIFA 15 can offer, EA Sports recommends that you play it on a system equipped with an Intel i5-2550K @ 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-6350 Six-Core processor, and with 8 GB of RAM installed.

Additionally, a much beefier graphics card will be required in order to take full advantage of the power of the Ignite engine, with the developer listing an ATI Radeon HD 6870 or Nvidia GTX 460 as the recommended hardware to play FIFA 15 on.

Other stuff

The client clocks in at 13 GB of hard drive space, and requires a minimum of DirectX 11.0 installed, as well as all the necessary input devices, including support for an extra keyboard for single-system multiplayer, mouse, Dual Analogue gamepads, and VOIP headsets.

FIFA 15 is coming out on September 23 in North America and September 25 in Europe. The PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions share the same code and will offer the same experience, but the Xbox 360 and PS3 editions will provide a pared-down experience, due to the lower power of the hardware.

A legacy edition of FIFA 15 will also be available on the Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and PlayStation Vita platforms.
