Microsoft has just published a new software subsection in the Store, as it tries to promote the best apps to help users learn how to play music instruments without leaving the Metro UI.

The category currently holds virtual pianos, drums, guitars, and many other apps, most of which are available with a freeware license for all Windows 8 adopters.

“Find your rhythm. With a little practice and some help from apps, you can learn to play guitar, bass, drums, accordion, and other instruments in time and in tune. Start a band and you’ll be entertaining your family and friends before long!” the category description reads.

As usual, this new section will only be available for a limited time in the Store, so hurry up if you wish to download one of these apps, by clicking on the Spotlight section.
