These Are the Best Selling Games of 2010 in Japan

Sales tracking company Media Create has just published a chart with the best selling games of the year in Japan.

It's been a good year for games in the land of the rising sun, as the country flocked to purchase lots of huge games, most of them coming from Nintendo or other local companies, like Capcom or Konami.

The first spot, to about no one's surprise, is Pokemon Black/White, the newest iteration of the popular franchise released by Nintendo on its DS handheld platform, which sold 4.49 million units

Next up, we have New Super Mario Bros. Wii, another popular Nintendo title, who also broke the 4 million barrier.

Third spot goes to Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII, the only title in the top 10 that didn't appear on a Nintendo platform, as it was launched just for the PlayStation 3 in Japan, and sold 1.9 million copies.

The rest of the top 10 is made up of titles that appear exclusively on Nintendo platforms like the DS or Wii, including Dragon Quest VI (1.3m), Wii Party (1.2m) or Super Mario Galaxy 2 (882k).

Media Create mentioned that the numbers were charted until the end of November, so Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, which was launched on the PSP after that and already reached 3.1 million copies sold, is missing.
