It should have an easy enough time of powering quad-graphics computers

Despite all the advancements in energy efficiency, CPUs and graphics cards still eat a lot of power, the high-end ones anyway. Or, rather, the system needs to put a lot of power into cooling the things.

That's why there are and for a long time will be power supply units with output of over 1000W. And, in some cases, a lot over 1000W at that.

Thermaltake's Toughpower Titanium 1500W is an example. At just 100W behind the EVGA 1600W Power Supplies, it has 80 Plus Titanium efficiency.

That means that it has an efficiency of 92% at 20% load, 94% at 50% load, and 90% at 100% load.

So it's safe to say that the Toughpower Titanium 1500W, with its single +12V rail design, will have no trouble at all powering a desktop with top-of-the-line computing, memory and graphics components. Even if there are a full four NVIDIA or AMD graphics cards installed on the motherboard.

Speaking of which, the cabling system is extensive and totally modular, meaning that you get to only install the wires you need, without needlessly cluttering the inside of your case. Finally, a 140 mm temperature-controlled Fan completes the ensemble.

Sadly, Thermaltake did not provide a launch date or a price for the powerful PSU. It only showed it off at Computex 2014.
