Thermaltake released its award-winning Level 10 computer case during the CeBIT show in Hanover, Germany, where this uniquely designed chassis received great acclaim. Today, the company's attention towards the mid-end market doesn't seem to have waned as a result of this success on the high-end segment. Thermaltake revealed its plans to soon release modified versions of its TR2 RX series of power supplies.

Thermaltake has established itself as a developer of high-quality PC components, even despite being a relatively young company that was founded in 1999. Still, even in just ten years, the component producer has gained a strong foothold in the IT industry and even won several awards, which attest both the quality and green engineering of its products, such as the aforementioned CeBIT acclaim received for the Level 10 case. The upcoming, enhanced TR2 RX power supplies are a testament to the company's ongoing efforts to deliver high-quality and green performance to all levels of the market.

The upcoming computer case power supplies will measure 150 (W) x 86 (H) x 160 (D) mm and will be fully compatible with the ATX 12V V2.3. The modified models will make use of Japanese capacitors for a drastically increased performance and stability, while the circuitry will have a double forward design, which will allow for more efficient power distribution and, thus, increased power savings. As a result of the efficient layout and Japanese capacitors, the modular units will have an estimated mean time before failure (MTBF) of no less than 100,000 hours.

Naturally, the power supplies will be well cooled. The TR2 RX 450W PSU will make use of one 140mm fan running at a rotary speed of 1900 rotations per minute, whereas the 140mm fan of the TR2 RX 550W power supply will spin at about 2300 rotations per minute. These units will serve well in any mid-end or discrete system configuration and will ensure that the computing tasks are carried out with minimum power losses.

The two PSUs make use of dual 12V rails and will soon become available. The 450W TR2 RX will sell for about $60, whereas the 550W TR2 RX will have an estimated price tag of $70.
