Thermaltake, a company well known for its cooling solutions and power supply units, has just announced the release of two new Smart series PSUs with 80PLUS Bronze certification that increase the maximum Wattage of this range to 850W.

Besides the 850W unit, the other model announced today is rated at 750W, but both these PSUs feature similar specifications, as well as a single 12V rail, which can deliver between 62A and 70A of power, depending on the model chosen.

The current produced by the PSU is then distributed throughout the system via the available power connectors, which include no less than nine SATA power plugs, at least six MOLEX plugs, as well as four 6+2-pin PCI Express connectors.

For cooling duties, Thermaltake has installed a 140mm ultra-quiet cooling fan with RPM control, in order to provide booth silent running and great thermal performance.

In addition, the company designed the modular cables used in its Smart PSUs to be flat, which is said to improve airflow around the case.

The rest of the features list include and active PFC, Japanese made capacitors, industrial-grade protection circuits, as well as compatibility with high-end desktop systems running Nvidia SLI or AMD CrossFireX multi-GPU setups.

All the power supplies are certified by the 80PLUS organization to deliver an 85% energy efficiency at 50% load (which equals with a Bronze label) and also comply with the ErP (Energy Related product) directive, to ensure that less than 1W of power is used in passive standby and off modes.

The maximum power output of the 750W Smart PSU is rated at 900W, while the peak capacity of the 850W unit is rated at 1020W.

No details about the price of these power supplies were made public by Thermaltake, but expect them to cost a pretty penny.
